Public Hearing Minutes
May 13, 2013

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Chairman Webber in the Antrim Town Hall.

Members Present:        Mr. Webber, Mr. Genest & Mr. Robertson
Staff present:          Galen Stearns (Town Administrator)

  • Mr. Webber opened the continuation of the April 29, 2013 Public Hearing on the proposed offer of $40,000 from Antrim Wind Energy LLC in the upstairs meeting room of the Antrim Town Hall.  Mr. Webber stated that the board would first hear from anyone who had not previously spoken with some people speaking for and some against.
  • Mr. Webber read a letter from David & Cindy Healy opposing this offer into the record.
  • Mr. Genest read a letter from Steve Sawyer & Kelly Rigg in favor of accepting this offer into the record.
  • Mr. Webber read a letter from Cynthia Crockett in favor of accepting this offer into the record.  While Mr. Webber was reading this letter, Ms. McEwen interrupted with a point of order request, Mr. Webber warned her not to interrupt and started reading again and Ms. McEwen interrupted again and Mr. Webber had her removed from the room and a number of residents left at the same time.
  • Mr. Robertson read a letter from Barbara Gard opposing this offer into the record.
  • Mr. Genest read a letter from Shelley Nelkens opposing this offer into the record.
  • Mr. Webber read a letter from Karen & Albert Weisswange in favor of accepting this offer into the record.
  • The board accepted input from everyone in attendance who wished to speak on the proposed offer.  At 7:33 PM, Mr., Webber asked if there was any further input and hearing none, stated that the board would deliberate on accepting the offer.  The board deliberated.  Mr. Genest motioned to sign the letter accepting Antrim Wind Energy’s offer, Mr. Robertson 2nd, passed 3/0
  • At 7:38 PM Mr. Genest motioned to close the Public Hearing, Mr. Webber 2nd.  Passed 3/0
